Vineyard Notes
Along with the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc, this wine was the first to be made using fully certified organic fruit from the Rosily vineyard. The Semillon fruit was particularly flavoursome this year, displaying clearly defined fig and honey notes. Full sugar ripeness was matched with great natural acidity, perhaps due to the combination of a dry growing season (the third driest on record at Rosily) and the cooler than average ripening season through January and February.
Winemaker Notes
Hand harvested, then crushed, destemmed and chilled before pressing. Only free run juice and light pressings retained for Rosily wine; medium and heavy pressings removed. Oak treatment: 30% Barrel matured for 2 months in French Oak (100% new)
Food Pairing Notes
A refreshing and complex wine well suited to many foods, from delicate seafood through to fuller flavoured spicy dishes.
Average Production (over 19 years) – 1110 cases 2018 Production – 920 cases
