The cooler growing conditions of 2021 produced cabernet fruit that our winemaker felt was better suited to the medium-bodied Cartographer blend than to a straight cabernet sauvignon.  As a result, we chose not to produce a 2021 cabernet - and all the fruit earmarked for a straight cabernet (inculding parcels that would normally go into our reserve cabernet) went into this "super vintage" of Cartographer 2021.

Appearance: Clear, bright, deep ruby red with a slight purple hue.

Nose: Fresh mix of floral and red fruits notes with mint, spice and gum leaf hints.

Palate: Displaying herb, dark cherry, plum and black olive flavours with a smooth finish.
Grainy, elegant tannins flow through to the finish.

Cellaring:  The higher than usual proportion of cabernet in this vintage of The Cartographer will ensure it cellars well for at least seven to eight years from the release date (December 2022)
