Appearance: Pale straw, brilliantly bright with a slight lemon tinge.

Nose: Aromatics reveal fresh nettle and ripe tropical fruits. Lightly toasted oak adds an extra dimension and depth.

Palate: A focused wine that displays citrus, grassy and subtle lime zest flavours. Deftly selected and handled oak provides vigour and complexity. Refreshing tangy acidity brings life to the finish.

Cellaring: This wine is ready for current drinking but will continue to evolve slowly over the next 12-18 months.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Decreasing vigour in the Semillon has allowed us to cease the use of Scott Henry and two tier trellising in the variety. This, along with the fact that another 10 rows of Semillon were grafted across to different varieties in the spring of 2016, has left a Semillon block that is both smaller and more uniform than has been the case in past years. The yield of 2.54 tonnes per acres was 6% more than the long term average, but the overall harvest of 8.92 tonnes was about 30% less than the Rosily average, reflecting the reduced number of vines.
Production Notes
60% Semillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc.
Winemaker Notes
No sulphites were used in the production of this wine, although small amounts of naturally occurring sulphites may be present in the finished wine. Otherwise made exactly the same as the traditional Rosily SSB - Hand harvested, then crushed, destemmed and chilled before pressing. Only free run juice and light pressings retained for Rosily wine; medium and heavy pressings removed. Oak treatment: 40% Barrel matured for 2 months in French Oak (100% new)
This is our first ever wine produced without the addition of sulphites. Just 39 cases were produced.
