Chardonnay 2010

The 2010 harvest marks the 11th consecutive vintage of the Rosily Vineyard Chardonnay. 100% of the grapes used to make this wine were hand harvested off the two Chardonnay blocks of the Rosily Vineyard.

Over the last few years the Rosily Chardonnay has developed into an intricate blend of different clones. The backbone of this wine (60%) is sourced from the traditional Gingin clone, but the addition of fruit from newly grafted Burgundian clones helps create a complex and multi-dimensional wine.

This wine retains classic Margaret River stonefruit and grapefruit flavours, with the new clones adding an extra layer of interest on the palate including mineral and flinty elements.

» Reviews / Awards

"While the Gingin clone so important to Margaret River is dominant, the estate block from which the grapes come has six additional clones; despite nine months in 60% new French oak, it is the intensity of the fruit that defines the wine, with its minerally structure cradling the grapefruit and white peach flavours. - 93 points" - James Halliday, 2011 Australian Wine Companion
